Lindah Lepou is an acclaimed Pacific couture designer and has put out her first solo art exhibition.
Collaborating with photographer George Buckleton, she created Aitu: Homage to Spirit, a series of garments and photographs that pay tribute to three Samoan heroines of legend: Taema, Telesa and Nafanua.

Alexander Ligairi (20) and Laisa Baxter (19) are becoming household names at the annual Fiji Fashion Week.
Their label ‘Lo’Ross & Crown will once again feature in the MHCC Emerging Designers category, with its latest Collection, ‘Block It All Out’.
Even with the pressure of such a big show, the duo have managed to maintain their sense of humour, talking to Islandher about “two of the ‘MOST’ stressful, most painful time consuming weeks to pull it all together (laughs)”.

New Zealand Fashion Week is done and dusted for another year, but it’s time for our Niuean fashionistas to steal the spotlight with their very own fashion event hitting the runway.
The annual Niue Constitution Week held in October is in for a shake up this year, with a little fashion flair added into the national celebrations.
Niueans will have the chance to showcase their designs at the inaugural Niue Pule Fakamotu Islands Fashion Show on Saturday October 6.

France earns 32 billion Euros a year from fashion and now they’re seeing the potential in the Pacific to earn a similar income.
The French embassy is supporting Fiji Fashion Week by sponsoring a collection by Katherine Pradeau, a Paris based designer known for her fusion of ethnic fashions.
“We believe human interaction can be done well through cultural exchange and Fiji Fashion Week is doing that well.”
